PM Meets Arab Leaders After Israel’s Strike on Qatar

Doha: Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif strongly condemned Israel’s recent airstrike on Qatar, calling it a “serious violation of international law.” He expressed these views during separate meetings with Arab leaders on the sidelines of the Emergency Arab-Islamic Summit in Doha.

In talks with Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman, Egyptian President Abdel Fattah El Sisi, and Jordan’s King Abdullah II, the prime minister assured that Pakistan would extend “complete diplomatic support” to oppose Israeli aggression and safeguard peace in the region.

The summit was convened after Israeli warplanes targeted a residential area in Doha on September 9, which many saw as a dangerous escalation of ongoing regional tensions.

During his meeting with the Saudi Crown Prince, Shehbaz praised Riyadh’s leadership in uniting the Muslim world. In discussions with President El Sisi, both countries reaffirmed their solidarity with Qatar and agreed to enhance cooperation to rally global support. Meeting with King Abdullah II, both leaders stressed the urgent need for Muslim unity in the face of continued hostilities.

Shehbaz Sharif added that Pakistan, as a non-permanent member of the UN Security Council, would raise its voice at all international platforms, including the OIC. He said the Doha summit sent a strong and clear message: the Muslim world stands united against Israeli actions and is determined to defend regional peace.
