SHARM EL SHEIKH: Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has once again nominated former U.S. President Donald Trump for the Nobel Peace Prize, citing his key role in preventing conflict in South Asia and securing peace in multiple global hotspots.

During a press conference following the signing of the Gaza Peace Agreement, the Prime Minister praised Trump’s efforts in ending violence and promoting dialogue in regions facing serious threats of war. He stated that Trump had played a crucial role in preventing escalation between Pakistan and India, and helped broker ceasefires in at least seven other global conflicts.

PM Shehbaz highlighted Trump’s role in the Middle East peace process, particularly in reaching a truce in Gaza. He credited the former U.S. President with saving countless lives and promoting regional stability. According to the Prime Minister, Trump’s consistent diplomatic engagement over recent months has significantly contributed to reducing tensions and averting further bloodshed.

He further expressed his admiration for Trump’s leadership, saying that his mediation efforts in both South Asia and the Middle East came at a critical moment. PM Shehbaz called his actions timely and effective in maintaining peace between nuclear-armed states and volatile regions.

In addition to Trump, the Prime Minister also acknowledged the contributions of other regional leaders. He thanked the heads of state from Egypt, Qatar, Türkiye, Jordan, Saudi Arabia, and the United Arab Emirates for their support in securing the peace agreement in Gaza.

President Trump, in response, appreciated the remarks and recognized Pakistan’s cooperation in regional peace efforts. He also expressed his respect for Pakistan’s military leadership, naming Army Chief Syed Asim Munir as one of his most trusted partners in maintaining peace efforts.
