The Prime Minister explained that global oil prices have risen sharply, from around $72 per barrel to $158 per barrel in a short time. He said that such a huge increase has already created inflation pressure, and any further rise in fuel prices would put an unbearable burden on common people.
He concluded by saying that the government will bear the financial burden for now to protect the weaker sections of society. He added that although this is not a permanent solution, efforts are being made to manage the situation, reinforcing the decision of petrol and diesel prices unchanged in Pakistan while promoting simplicity and responsible use of resources.
