Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif has expressed deep sorrow over the tragic plane crash at Muan International Airport in South Korea that claimed the lives of many passengers. The incident occurred Sunday morning when Jeju Air Flight 2216, a Boeing 737-8AS, crashed during its attempt to land.

In a message posted on his official X (formerly Twitter) account, the Prime Minister extended his condolences to the victims’ families. “In this hour of grief, our thoughts and prayers are with the bereaved families and with the people and government of the Republic of Korea,” Shehbaz Sharif wrote.

Reports from foreign media state that the flight, which had taken off from Bangkok, was carrying 181 people in total, including 175 passengers and 6 crew members. The crash tragically resulted in the deaths of at least 85 individuals, with many more injured. Authorities are investigating the cause of the crash, which has shocked the international community.

The Prime Minister’s message reflects Pakistan’s solidarity with the people of South Korea during this difficult time, offering support and sympathy to the affected families and the nation. The government has yet to confirm any Pakistani nationals involved in the tragic incident.
