PML-N and PPP court JUI-F for coalition role

Major political parties in Pakistan have intensified efforts to reshape alliances, as both Pakistan Muslim League-N (PML-N) and Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) have approached Jamiat Ulema-i-Islam-Fazl (JUI-F) with offers to join their respective governments.

According to sources, separate meetings were held between leaders of PML-N, PPP, the Grand Democratic Alliance, and JUI-F chief Maulana Fazlur Rehman to explore potential political cooperation. Both major parties are seeking to strengthen their positions by bringing JUI-F into the ruling setup.

A senior PML-N leader reportedly extended an invitation to Fazlur Rehman to join the federal government, indicating that the party is looking for new alliances amid shifting political dynamics. The party is also said to be considering forming a government in Balochistan with JUI-F’s support.

Meanwhile, PPP leaders have also held discussions with the JUI-F chief, offering collaboration in provincial governments. The party reportedly proposed joint efforts in Sindh, Balochistan, and Gilgit-Baltistan, aiming to broaden its political base.

In parallel, leaders of the Grand Democratic Alliance have urged JUI-F to align with the opposition in Sindh, highlighting the party’s strategic importance in the current political landscape.

Sources within JUI-F indicate that the party is carefully evaluating these proposals. A final decision is expected after internal consultations, including a meeting of its Majlis-e-Shura.

JUI-F has convened a two-day session of its central executive committee in Peshawar, where senior leadership will discuss future strategy and possible alliances.

The outcome of these deliberations could play a significant role in shaping government formations and political alignments in the coming weeks.
