PPP Contacts PTI and MWM for Government Formation in Gilgit-Baltistan

Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) has established contact with the leadership of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) and Majlis Wahdat-e-Muslimeen (MWM) as part of efforts to form a government in Gilgit-Baltistan. The move comes after the recent election results, with Gilgit-Baltistan government formation becoming the focus of political discussions among opposition parties.
According to sources, PPP aims to form a government in Gilgit-Baltistan with the support of opposition parties currently represented at the federal level. Opposition leaders are expected to hold consultations over the next 24 hours before making a final decision regarding the provincial government.
Sources said that one MWM candidate and two independent candidates backed by PTI have won seats in Gilgit-Baltistan. With the addition of women’s and technocrat seats, the opposition bloc is expected to have a total of five votes in the assembly.
