Islamabad – Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has expressed confidence that 2025 will be a pivotal year for Pakistan’s economic growth, emphasising that political stability is a key factor in ensuring long-term prosperity and progress. During a Special Investment Facilitation Council meeting, the prime minister highlighted the significant strides made in improving the country’s economic outlook, attributing much of the progress to collaborative efforts from all sectors of government.

The meeting, chaired by Prime Minister Sharif, included participation from military officials, federal ministers, and provincial chief ministers, all of whom were recognised for their contributions to the country’s economic stabilisation efforts.

In his address, the prime minister proudly noted that inflation had been successfully reduced to 4.1 per cent, a key achievement in the government’s ongoing efforts to stabilise the economy. He reiterated that economic stability cannot be separated from political stability, asserting, “Economic stability is linked to political stability.”

Sharif also shared positive news on remittances and foreign reserves. He revealed that remittances had surged by 34 per cent for five months, providing a much-needed boost to Pakistan’s economy. Furthermore, foreign reserves saw a significant increase, rising from $4 billion to over $12 billion, marking a strong turnaround in the country’s financial health.
