Rawalpindi: In a heartfelt initiative to raise awareness about breast cancer, the Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium will be turning pink on Monday, 19 May, for the 30th match of Pakistan Super League (PSL) Season 10, featuring Islamabad United and Karachi Kings, the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) announced.

This step is part of the PSL’s ongoing efforts under its corporate social responsibility (CSR) program. The league is collaborating with the Pink Ribbon campaign to highlight the importance of early detection and support for those affected by breast cancer.

According to a press release issued by the PCB, the league is committed to using its platform to shine a light on health-related issues and meaningful causes.

“Breast cancer affects countless lives, and spreading awareness is key,” said PSL CEO Salman Naseer. “We believe in standing with those battling this disease and promoting early detection, which can save lives.”

As part of the awareness campaign:

  • Islamabad United will wear specially designed pink-themed kits.

  • Karachi Kings and match officials will show support by wearing pink caps.

  • Players, coaches, commentators, and officials will also sport pink ribbons during the match.

This is not the first time PSL has used its platform for a noble cause. On 3 May, during match 23 between Quetta Gladiators and Islamabad United in Lahore, the league observed Childhood Cancer Awareness Day to highlight the fight against pediatric cancer.
