Police in Rawalpindi have registered a case against hundreds of individuals following a protest that allegedly turned violent, with authorities claiming it was incited by Aleema Khan.

According to a First Information Report (FIR) lodged at Sadr Bairooni police station, around 400 workers have been nominated, including several members of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI). Among those named are Member of the National Assembly Shahid Khattak and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa provincial minister Meena Khan.

Other individuals mentioned in the case include provincial government spokesperson Shafi Jan, Mirza Afridi, Shafqat Awan, Iqbal Afridi, and Naeem Panjutha.

The FIR states that 41 suspects were arrested at the scene, while nine police personnel sustained injuries during clashes caused by alleged stone-pelting by protesters. Authorities also reported recovering materials used for making petrol bombs from 13 vehicles taken into custody.

Police claim that the protest was pre-planned and that participants attempted to exert pressure through violent means. During the unrest, a government vehicle was damaged, and demonstrators reportedly raised slogans against state institutions.

The protest also led to the blockage of a major highway, disrupting daily life and bringing traffic to a halt in parts of the city. Law enforcement agencies moved swiftly to restore order and clear the roads.

Officials said investigations are ongoing, and further action will be taken based on evidence gathered. The incident highlights ongoing political tensions and concerns over public safety during demonstrations.
