Punjab CM Maryam Nawaz Launches Digital Ration Card Scheme
Lahore: Chief Minister of Punjab Maryam Nawaz has launched a new Digital Ration Card Scheme aimed at supporting low-income families struggling with rising inflation.

Under this initiative, each eligible family will receive a digital smart card through which they can get ₨3,000 per month to purchase essential food items from authorized grocery and utility stores.

According to the Punjab government, the scheme will initially distribute 150,000 ration cards among deserving households. The goal is to provide transparent and direct financial assistance to families in need without requiring them to rely on loans or intermediaries.

The program ensures that aid reaches verified and deserving beneficiaries efficiently. In its first phase, industrial and daily-wage workers will be prioritized to receive the cards.

To qualify, applicants must:

  • Be residents of Punjab

  • Be registered with the Punjab Social Economic Registry (PSER)

  • Hold a valid CNIC linked with an active mobile number

  • Have a monthly household income below ₨50,000

  • Have a PMT score below 35
Government employees and those already receiving BISP benefits are not eligible.

Applications can be submitted online via the Punjab Social Economic Registry portal, or by visiting the nearest Union Council office or E-Khidmat Center.
