Rickshaw Driver Playing Naseebo Lal’s Song

Okara – Police have registered a case against a rickshaw driver for playing a song by renowned Pakistani singer Naseebo Lal, citing a violation of the Punjab Sound System Act.

The case was filed under the Punjab Sound Systems (Regulation) Act, 2015, which aims to regulate the use of sound systems in the province to prevent public nuisance and maintain order.

Okara police spokesperson emphasized that no one would be allowed to break the law and assured strict action against all offenders. This incident follows a similar case in Lahore last month, where a man was booked for playing Noor Jehan’s song loudly in his car.

About the Punjab Sound System Act

The Punjab Sound System Act is designed to control noise pollution and avoid disturbances caused by loud sound systems. It protects public decency, order, and the environment by regulating sound system use.

Under the law, authorities have the power to seize sound equipment used in offenses. Violators can face up to six months in prison and fines ranging from Rs. 25,000 to Rs. 100,000.

The Punjab government continues its strict enforcement of the act to ensure peace and prevent public nuisance across the province.
