Sardar Sherbaz Satakzai Gets Bail in Degari Murder Case

The Balochistan High Court has granted bail to Sardar Sherbaz Satakzai, accused in the Degari double murder case. Justice Iqbal Kasi approved the bail on Monday against a personal bond of Rs500,000. Satakzai was arrested earlier this year for the murder of a man and a woman in Degari. The court heard the bail plea in Quetta after a petition filed by the accused. Advocate Akram Shah represented Satakzai and argued in favor of bail.
The court reviewed the submissions carefully and ruled to grant bail to Satakzai. This decision followed his arrest during the ongoing investigation into the brutal killings. The case gained widespread attention after videos of the murders surfaced on social media. These disturbing clips showed the public shooting of Bano Bibi and a young man, causing national outrage. Authorities acted swiftly, arresting several suspects, including the tribal elder Satakzai.
The double murder occurred just days before Eid-ul-Adha, shocking the nation deeply. Balochistan Chief Minister Sardar Sarfaraz Bugti ordered immediate police action after seeing the viral videos. Satakzai is currently in police custody on a 10-day physical remand for further investigation. The post-mortem reports revealed the severity of the crime. Police surgeon Dr. Ayesha Faiz confirmed that Bano Bibi was shot seven times, while the man was shot nine times.
The Balochistan High Court had earlier taken suo motu notice of the honour killing case on July 21. The court’s intervention aimed to ensure justice and thorough inquiry into this brutal incident. Police continue their investigation to bring all involved individuals to justice. The case remains a high priority due to its impact on public sentiment and law enforcement accountability. Authorities have promised a transparent and fair legal process.
Overall, the granting of bail to Sardar Sherbaz Satakzai marks a key development in the Degari murder case. The court’s decision balances the legal rights of the accused with the ongoing investigation needs. Meanwhile, public outrage and demand for justice continue to grow. The upcoming hearings will determine the future course of this sensitive case. Citizens and officials alike are watching closely as the legal process unfold
