Seven killed, 40 injured as stage collapses at Jain Nirvana Fair in Uttar Pradesh

Seven people were killed and 40 others, including women and children, were injured when a stage collapsed at the Jain Nirvana Fair in Baghpat, Uttar Pradesh.
The incident occurred when devotees had gathered to offer ladoos to Lord Adinath in the presence of Jain monks. A temporary stage made of bamboo and wood collapsed during the event, leading to casualties.
According to district officials, the injured were quickly transported to the hospital as 108 ambulances were already present at the scene.
Baghpat District Magistrate, Asmita Lal, mentioned that 20 people had been given initial medical treatment and released immediately.
Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath expressed his wishes for the speedy recovery of the injured and instructed district officials to leave no stone unturned in providing treatment to the devotees.
