Satellite Mission
Pakistan’s Space and Upper Atmosphere Research Commission (SUPARCO) has announced that the country’s newly launched remote sensing satellite is now fully operational.

Launched successfully from China’s Xichang Satellite Launch Center on July 31, 2025, the satellite has achieved a stable orbit and established reliable communication with ground stations.

Equipped with advanced high-resolution imaging technology, the satellite will provide vital data for urban planning, infrastructure development, and regional monitoring.

It will also play a key role in disaster management, offering real-time updates during floods, earthquakes, and landslides, while supporting environmental monitoring, including glacier melt, deforestation, and climate change trends.

The satellite will benefit agriculture through improved crop monitoring and productivity. Closely aligned with CPEC, it will assist in transport mapping, geo-hazard detection, and more efficient resource management.

Experts describe this milestone as a step toward technological self-reliance, sustainable development, and stronger socio-economic decision-making for Pakistan.
