TikTok introduces new features to support mental health and wellbeing

TikTok has announced a range of new features aimed at improving mental health and digital wellbeing, especially for younger users. The updates include tools focused on meditation, sleep quality, and personal development.

According to the company, these features will activate during nighttime hours and offer mindfulness exercises to help users relax and focus. For users under 18, the feature will be enabled by default.

If teens use the app after 10 PM, they’ll receive prompts encouraging them to try calming activities. Continued use will trigger a full-screen reminder, developed in partnership with a meditation app.

In addition, TikTok is rolling out a new educational feed, enhanced online safety tools, and parental controls for screen time, aiming to create a safer and healthier digital environment for all users.
