US Iran diplomacy

WASHINGTON – The United States said it is ready to engage Iran diplomatically if Tehran chooses to reach out. A senior US official stated that Washington is “open for business” while emphasizing that Iran already knows the conditions for talks. The announcement comes as the US increases pressure on Iran following protests and concerns over its nuclear program. Officials stressed that military deployments complement diplomatic options rather than replace them.

US President Donald Trump warned that an American “armada” is heading toward Iran but said he hopes it will not be used. He reiterated warnings against Iran harming protesters or restarting nuclear activities. Trump noted that nationwide demonstrations in Iran have subsided and reported that killings are decreasing. He also said there is currently no plan for executions of prisoners. These remarks underline Washington’s dual approach of pressure and caution.

Two US officials confirmed that an aircraft carrier and supporting warships have arrived in the Middle East. The deployment expands military options, both to defend US forces and potentially act against Iran. Historically, the US has surged forces in the region during heightened tensions for defensive purposes. However, past buildups have preceded strikes on Iran’s nuclear program. The current movement signals serious intent while keeping space for diplomacy.

Iran has responded sharply, warning that any attack would trigger “an all-out war.” US media report that Washington has set four conditions for a potential deal: eliminate enriched uranium, bar enrichment inside Iran, limit ballistic missiles, and end support for regional proxy groups. Officials say these conditions have been clearly conveyed to Tehran’s leadership. Meanwhile, Israel reports the US is considering a naval blockade to cut Iran’s oil exports.

White House officials confirm that military options, including strikes, remain on the table. President Trump will hold further consultations this week to review additional measures. The United States maintains its approach of maximum pressure while leaving space for diplomacy. With military assets deployed and strict conditions set, the coming days are critical for US-Iran relations. Analysts say the situation could determine the trajectory of regional stability.
