WhatsApp introduces AI-powered “writing help” feature to enhance messaging

WhatsApp has launched a new AI-powered feature called “Writing Help”, aimed at assisting users with proofreading, sentence enhancement, and adjusting the tone of their messages.

The tool is built on Meta’s private processing technology, ensuring that neither WhatsApp nor Meta can access users’ original messages or AI-generated suggestions.

Key Highlights:

Users can rewrite messages in professional, casual, or humorous tones.

After typing a message, a new pencil icon appears next to the emoji icon.

Tapping the icon allows users to generate alternative versions of their message using AI.

The feature is currently being rolled out in select countries and will gradually become available worldwide.

According to Meta, the goal is to keep users within WhatsApp for writing assistance, reducing reliance on external AI tools like ChatGPT.
