X Announces Launch of New Payment Service, “X Money”

Elon Musk has long discussed transforming X (formerly Twitter) into a super app similar to China’s WeChat, and now a major step has been taken in that direction.

X has officially announced the launch of its new payment service, “X Money,” aimed at providing users with the ability to carry out financial transactions directly on the platform. This service is set to be fully introduced in 2025.

The goal of X Money is to transform the social media platform into a super app, incorporating financial services. According to the company, X Money will serve as a comprehensive solution for all financial transactions, with multiple payment features to be rolled out.

X CEO Linda Yaccarino recently revealed that Visa will be the first official partner of X Money. Through this partnership, users will be able to send and receive money via Visa Direct.

Additionally, X Money will allow users to connect through debit cards and offer an option for direct bank transfers.

The service will initially be launched in the United States and will expand to other regions based on legal and financial approvals.
