Young Man Disguises as Girl, Commits Major Theft at Friend’s House

In a bizarre incident in India, a young man disguised himself as a girl and stole gold jewellery and cash from his own friend’s house.

According to Indian media reports, the incident took place on September 16 in Uday Nagar. The victim, Shivraj, had gone to Nizamabad with his family. Before leaving, his son had informed his friend Harshit about their travel plans.

When the family returned the next day, they found the house lock broken. Upon checking the cupboard, they discovered that 6.75 tolas of gold jewellery and ₹110,000 in cash were missing.

The family immediately lodged a complaint with the police. Inspector Sheikh Qavi Uddin and Sub-Inspector Yaseen Ali launched an investigation.

CCTV footage showed a girl entering and exiting the house. Later, a local resident informed the police that a man had come to check the CCTV recordings. On reviewing the footage, Shivraj’s son identified the suspect as his friend Harshit.

Police raided Harshit’s house and recovered 6.75 tolas of gold and ₹85,000 in cash. During interrogation, Harshit confessed that he disguised himself as a girl to avoid being recognised.

He admitted that he committed the theft to repay debts taken from loan apps and had already used ₹25,000 for repayments.
