Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari said on Monday that Pakistan has endured challenges, remained resilient, and never compromised on its sovereignty, adding that the country continues to rise again through the spirit of its people.

Speaking at a “Marka-e-Haq” ceremony in Karachi, he said that about a year ago Pakistan was facing uncertainty, but national unity helped the country overcome difficult circumstances and emerge stronger.

Bilawal said Pakistan’s history is shaped by struggle and sacrifice, noting that since 1947 the country has been strengthened through repeated trials. He added that recent achievements were not only the result of military strength but also determination, courage, and unity.

He said the entire nation stood together “from the mountains of the north to the shores of the Arabian Sea,” including Punjab, Sindh, and Balochistan, demonstrating national solidarity. He praised the armed forces for defending the country with courage, discipline, and dignity, while also crediting diplomats for effectively presenting Pakistan’s position internationally.

Bilawal Bhutto stressed that Pakistan has always preferred peace and never sought conflict, adding that the country would never surrender under pressure or compromise on its defense.

Sindh Chief Minister Murad Ali Shah, speaking at the same event, said Pakistan responded quickly to Indian actions during past tensions, claiming that the situation shifted within hours in Pakistan’s favor.

Provincial Minister Sharjeel Inam Memon also addressed the ceremony, calling it a moment of national pride and unity, and said the armed forces delivered a strong response to the adversary.

He added that Pakistan’s nuclear capability was developed under former Prime Minister Zulfikar Ali Bhutto and further strengthened later, while also highlighting Bilawal Bhutto’s role in raising international awareness of the Kashmir issue.

The event referred to tensions between Pakistan and India in 2025 following the Pahalgam incident, after which both countries engaged in military exchanges before a ceasefire was eventually reached through international diplomatic efforts.
