U.S. President Donald Trump once again reminded the Modi government of the 7 Indian jets shot down during the recent Pakistan-India conflict. Speaking to the media at the Oval Office, Trump mentioned that he had helped stop eight wars so far, including the one that nearly broke out between Pakistan and India.

Trump said that Pakistan and India were on the edge of a nuclear war. He shared that Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif told him, “You saved millions of lives.” Trump added that this was in reference to the possible nuclear clash between the two nations, which was narrowly avoided.

During his media talk, Trump also discussed India’s oil trade with Russia. He said Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi had assured him that India would stop buying oil from Russia. Trump said he wasn’t happy about the deal at first, but now the issue has been resolved.

Trump further said that the U.S. wants Hamas to be disarmed but will not need to send American troops for that. He also touched upon the ongoing trade war with China and said efforts are being made to end the war in Ukraine.
