Release of Epstein Files

US President Donald Trump announced Sunday that he supports releasing more files related to convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein. Trump expressed his backing through a post on Truth Social, urging House Republicans to vote in favor of the release. He emphasized, “We have nothing to hide,” despite his earlier opposition to the measure.

The issue has caused division within the Republican Party. Some Republicans, including House Speaker Mike Johnson, have called for the files to be made public. However, Trump has faced criticism from some of his own allies, including Marjorie Taylor Greene, after he withdrew his endorsement for her 2026 re-election bid.

Emails from Epstein’s estate, released by the US House of Representatives, suggest Trump spent time with one of Epstein’s victims. The emails have raised questions about Trump’s involvement, leading Democrats to call for further investigation. Trump, in turn, has demanded an inquiry into links between Epstein, former President Bill Clinton, and others.

Despite the controversy, Trump has denied any wrongdoing and rejected accusations that he is trying to hide information. He has also rejected the notion of a “client list,” which many conspiracy theorists have focused on for years. Trump’s supporters remain outspoken on the Epstein case, despite the official ruling that Epstein died by suicide in 2019.

The Justice Department and FBI have stated that there is no evidence to justify investigating third parties, despite growing public pressure. However, the debate continues, with Trump’s stance on releasing the Epstein files intensifying partisan divisions within the country.

According to U.S. media, Trump bought the car during a White House photo op to show support for Musk’s companies. The vehicle was last seen parked outside the West Wing, but reports now suggest Trump is considering selling or gifting the car amid rising tensions.

The feud escalated after Elon Musk accused Trump of being named in the controversial Jeffrey Epstein files and labelled him “ungrateful” on social media platform X. Trump responded by calling Musk “crazy” and claimed he was the one who advised Musk to step back from public office involvement.
