Three sisters from Lahore have achieved a remarkable milestone by successfully completing the World Athletics Coaches Education and Certification System (CECS) Level One course together, earning international coaching certification and bringing pride to Pakistan’s sporting community.

Amina Shehzad, Ayesha Shehzad and Fatima Shehzad belong to a family with a strong sporting background. Their grandfather, Fayyaz Mahmood Qureshi, was a national athlete, while their father, Shehzad Qureshi, represented Pakistan as a national swimmer and is currently associated with cricket coaching.

The sisters are students of BS Health and Physical Education. Amina, the eldest, is studying in her eighth semester, while Ayesha and Fatima are enrolled in the sixth semester of the same degree programme.

Recently, the Pakistan Athletics Federation conducted the World Athletics CECS Level One coaching course in Lahore. The programme attracted experienced coaches from across the country, but the participation of the three sisters drew special attention from fellow attendees and instructors.

After successfully completing the course, the sisters received official certification from World Athletics, marking the beginning of what they hope will be successful careers in sports coaching.

Speaking about their achievement, the sisters said it was an honour to complete the course alongside senior coaches. They admitted they were initially surprised to be selected for the programme but were delighted to complete it successfully.

They described the learning experience as enjoyable and rewarding, noting that their academic background in health and physical education helped them understand both the theoretical and practical aspects of the course.

The sisters also expressed their ambition to continue their coaching education by pursuing higher-level certifications in the future. They said their goal is to advance in the coaching profession and contribute to the development of athletics in Pakistan.

Their accomplishment highlights the growing participation of young women in sports education and coaching, while also reflecting the increasing opportunities available for aspiring female sports professionals in the country.
