Punjab probes hospital after viral surgery video

The Punjab Health Department is looking into what happened at Lady Willingdon Hospital in Lahore. A video that went raised worries about how doctors are behaving and if patients are safe.
The video apparently showed two teams of doctors trying to do Caesarean-section surgeries in the operating room. This made a lot of people upset. Made them question if the doctors were acting professionally. The authorities said this was not how things are supposed to be done.
The health department is doing what Maryam Nawaz Sharif told them to do. They sent notices to top officials, including the hospital’s former boss, some consultants and the person in charge of a department. They are accused of not doing their job failing to manage things and not keeping an eye on things.

The department also talked to the Pakistan Medical and Dental Council. They suggested that they take action against five doctors who were involved in making the video. The doctors are Dr. Tayyaba, Dr. Maham, Dr. Zainab, Dr. Ayesha and Dr. Essa.
More people are in trouble including Dr. Farah, who used to be the hospital’s boss Dr. Uzma, a consultant and some other top staff members. The nursing staff and other people who were there when it happened also got notices.
Everyone has to explain what happened within a week or meet with the people investigating. Two secretaries, Asif Bilal Lodhi and Mian Shakeel Ahmed will oversee the investigation.
