Ishaq Dar Urges Continued US-Iran Dialogue After Islamabad Talks

Pakistan’s Deputy Prime Minister Ishaq Dar has expressed cautious optimism following the US Iran Talks Islamabad, describing the negotiations as comprehensive and constructive.
Speaking at a press briefing, Dar said Pakistan hopes both the United States and Iran will continue diplomatic engagement and uphold the ceasefire in the interest of regional and global stability.
He emphasized that both countries responded positively to the request of Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif to engage in dialogue, reflecting a shared willingness to reduce tensions.
Peace Talks Disrupted As Israel Strikes Iran, Ishaq Dar Says
Dar noted that it is crucial for both sides to remain committed to maintaining the ceasefire and to carry forward the negotiation process in good faith. He also thanked the delegations for their participation in the talks.
According to Dar, the US delegation was led by Vice President JD Vance, while the Iranian side was headed by Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf. Multiple rounds of discussions were held covering key regional issues.
He added that Pakistan played an active facilitation role in the negotiations, with support from both the civilian leadership and military officials, ensuring a conducive environment for dialogue.
Dar concluded by appreciating both nations for acknowledging Pakistan’s constructive role and expressed hope that Washington and Tehran will continue talks to achieve lasting peace and stability.
