Punjab Moves to Standardize College Education Across Entire Province

Punjab has taken a major step as it moves to standardize college education across the entire province for the first time. This decision aims to ensure equal academic standards and better opportunities for students. It reflects a broader effort to improve the education system.

Meanwhile, Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz chaired a key meeting to review progress on school and higher education projects. During the meeting, she ordered the provision of electric bus facilities for college students. She also directed authorities to expand scholarships for all eligible students.

Furthermore, the government decided to affiliate all commerce colleges in Punjab with universities. Officials shared that 36 commerce colleges in 29 districts will link with 19 public universities. Each college will connect with a government university within its district to improve academic quality.

In addition, approval was granted to build modern IT labs in 166 public colleges. The chief minister also instructed that minority students should receive laptops on open merit. Authorities announced funding for scholarships, including support for visually impaired and special students. Moreover, Google will offer free certification courses to over 100,000 students.

Finally, Punjab’s move to standardize college education across the province signals a strong commitment to reform. Reports showed high student satisfaction with the laptop scheme. Assessment results also highlighted strong performance, especially among female students, reinforcing confidence in ongoing education initiatives.
