Pakistan begins Hajj flight operation

Islamabad Pakistan is set to begin its large-scale Hajj flight operation from April 18 under the government scheme, facilitating the سفر of thousands of pilgrims to Medina and Jeddah.
According to the Ministry of Religious Affairs, the operation will span 34 days, during which approximately 119,000 pilgrims will be transported to Saudi Arabia through a total of 468 flights. On the first day, four flights from Karachi, Lahore, Sialkot, and Multan will depart for Medina.
Officials stated that during the initial 15 days, all flights totaling 186 will land in Medina. From May 4, the second phase will begin, with 282 flights scheduled to operate to Jeddah until the final departure on May 21.
Several airlines are participating in the operation, including Pakistan International Airlines, Airblue, AirSial, and Saudia. Flights will be operated from eight major cities across the country to ensure smooth travel arrangements.
Islamabad will handle the highest number of flights, with 129 departures planned. Karachi will follow with 124 flights, while Lahore will operate 104. Other cities included in the operation are Multan (34 flights), Sialkot (26), Faisalabad (23), Quetta (18), and Sukkur (5).
Authorities say all necessary arrangements have been finalised to ensure a smooth and comfortable journey for pilgrims. Special measures have been taken to streamline airport procedures, reduce waiting times, and provide assistance throughout the سفر.
The annual Hajj operation is one of the largest logistical exercises in the country, requiring close coordination between airlines, government departments, and Saudi authorities to ensure its successful execution.
