Pakistan have announced a 16-member squad for their upcoming two-Test series against Bangladesh, introducing four uncapped players while maintaining continuity under captain Shan Masood. The series, part of the ICC World Test Championship 2025–27 cycle, will be played in Dhaka and Sylhet next month.

The new faces in the squad include Abdullah Fazal, Amad Butt, Azan Awais, and wicketkeeper-batter Muhammad Ghazi Ghori. Among them, Ghazi Ghori has prior international exposure after featuring in a recent ODI against Bangladesh, while the others earn their maiden call-ups at the Test level. The selection reflects a blend of emerging talent and experienced campaigners as Pakistan look to strengthen their red-ball structure.

Shan Masood will continue to lead the side, with a refreshed coaching setup featuring former captain Sarfaraz Ahmed as head coach. Sarfaraz, who recently retired from international cricket, brings leadership experience, having guided Pakistan to the 2017 ICC Champions Trophy title. Former internationals Asad Shafiq and Umar Gul will serve as batting and bowling coaches respectively, adding further depth to the management team.

Several players, including Imam-ul-Haq, Azan Awais, Noman Ali, Sajid Khan, and Ghazi Ghori, are currently involved in a red-ball conditioning camp at the National Cricket Academy in Lahore. The rest of the squad will assemble in Karachi for a preparatory camp from April 27 to May 1, while players engaged in the ongoing Pakistan Super League will join after their commitments. Those featuring in the PSL final will travel directly to Bangladesh.

The first Test will be held in Dhaka from May 8 to 12, followed by the second in Sylhet from May 16 to 20. The PCB said the selection reflects a long-term strategy to build bench strength in the Test format while maintaining competitive balance.
