The Chief Minister of Punjab, Maryam Nawaz, has taken serious notice of the rising crime rate across the province and has directed authorities to take immediate action to control the situation.

In response to increasing incidents of theft, robbery, and street crimes, the Chief Minister called an urgent meeting to review the overall law and order situation in Punjab.

During the meeting, she expressed strong displeasure over the inability to control crime in districts such as Sheikhupura and Faisalabad and reprimanded senior police officials for poor performance.

Maryam Nawaz directed Regional Police Officers (RPOs) and District Police Officers (DPOs) to enhance coordination with the Crime Control Department (CCD) to ensure effective law enforcement.

She stated that the rising crime rate is alarming and unacceptable, emphasizing that there is no space for negligence in maintaining public safety in the province.

The Chief Minister further said that Punjab has already been turned into a safer province through previous reforms, and now authorities must deliver results without excuses or delays.

She also highlighted several recent incidents, including vehicle battery theft in Gulberg, robbery cases in Gujrat, and increasing drug-related crimes, calling them deeply concerning and unacceptable.
