US President Donald Trump has spoken about the shooting incident that occurred during a White House media dinner, stating that the attacker held anti-Christian views and harboured deep hatred.

In an interview with US media, President Trump said the suspect was quickly subdued by security personnel present at the event. He noted that while securing such a large gathering can be challenging, the swift response helped prevent a more serious tragedy.

Trump described the attacker as someone with extremist beliefs, adding that his manifesto clearly reflected hostility toward Christians. “You can read his manifesto — he hated Christians,” the president said.

He also labelled the attacker as mentally unstable, suggesting that the individual’s family was aware of his condition and the difficulties he was facing.

According to a law enforcement official, the suspect had sent his manifesto to family members shortly before carrying out the attack, indicating prior intent.

The incident took place in Washington during a dinner hosted in honour of media representatives at the White House, where President Trump was also present at the time. Despite the shooting, the president remained unharmed.

Authorities confirmed that the attacker was arrested at the scene, and an investigation is currently underway to determine the full circumstances, motives, and background behind the incident.

Officials are also reviewing security protocols for high-profile events to ensure better protection in the future. The incident has raised concerns about safety measures at major public and political gatherings in the United States.
