Clashes reported in South Waziristan after cross-border firing and militant infiltration attempt

In South Waziristan’s Angoor Adda area of Zlol Khel, security tensions escalated following reported cross-border firing and attempted infiltration.
According to security sources, the Pakistan Army responded promptly to what was described as provocative activity from across the border. Several enemy positions were reportedly targeted and destroyed in a swift retaliatory operation.
Officials stated that timely action by the armed forces successfully foiled all attempts of infiltration by armed groups referred to as “Fitna al-Khawarij” in official communications.
After the failed infiltration attempt, reports claimed that firing incidents occurred in which civilian areas were also affected. As a result, two women and one civilian were injured and shifted immediately to a hospital in Wana for medical treatment.

Local sources said that the situation created panic in nearby settlements, with residents expressing concern over cross-border violence and its impact on civilian safety.
Security officials described the response as part of ongoing operations aimed at securing the border and preventing militant movement across the frontier. They added that forces remain alert and continue monitoring the situation closely.
Residents of the area have strongly condemned the reported firing incidents and urged authorities to take further steps to ensure the protection of civilians living near the border region.
Authorities have not independently verified all claims from across the border, while investigations and security assessments are ongoing to determine the full scope of the incident.
