Bollywood’s renowned actor and director Aamir Khan recently revealed that he had decided to retire from the film industry a few years ago, but his children, Ira and Junaid, encouraged him to reconsider his decision.
In a recent interview with his former wife, Kiran Rao, Aamir Khan shared that he made this decision before his film Laal Singh Chaddha. He said, “It was a personal journey.”
He further explained that after the pandemic, he realised he had devoted most of his life solely to films and had missed out on spending time with his loved ones—his children, siblings, and his wives, Kiran and Reena.
Aamir admitted, “I had a lot of regrets. I gave 35 years of my life to films, but now I needed to focus on my family.”
When Aamir shared his decision to leave films with his family, his children tried to dissuade him. Junaid said, “Why go from one extreme to another? Why not find a middle ground?”
After this advice, Aamir decided to change his decision.
To Appear in the Next Project
In his return to acting, Aamir Khan will star in his new film, Sitaare Zameen Par, which is a spiritual sequel to the 2007 hit film Taare Zameen Par. The film is set to release on December 25.
