Babar Azam Equals Unwanted T20I Record After Another Duck

Pakistan’s star batter Babar Azam has once again been dismissed for zero, and this time he has equaled an unwanted most T20I ducks record in international cricket. The incident happened during the tri-nation T20I series match against Sri Lanka at Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium.
On Thursday, Babar Azam was out for a duck when Pakistan faced Sri Lanka in an important match of the series. This was his second consecutive duck in the tournament, as he was also dismissed for zero earlier against Zimbabwe in the opening match.
With this latest dismissal, Babar has now been out for zero a total of 10 times in T20 internationals. This means he now shares the record with Pakistan’s Saim Ayub and Umar Akmal, who also have 10 ducks each in their T20I careers.

A look at Pakistan’s list of most ducks in T20Is shows Umar Akmal with 10 ducks in 84 matches, Saim Ayub with 10 ducks in 55 matches, and Babar Azam with 10 ducks in 135 matches. Despite his overall strong career, this statistic has now put Babar in an unwanted spotlight.
In the same match, Sri Lanka defeated Pakistan by 6 runs in a close contest and qualified for the final, while Zimbabwe was eliminated from the series. The tri-nation final will be played between Pakistan and Sri Lanka on Saturday, where fans hope Babar will avoid adding further to the most T20I ducks record.
