Case filed against famous American singer and actress

International pop icon and actress Jennifer Lopez has once again found herself at the centre of a legal controversy. According to foreign media reports, photographer Edwin Blanco and the photo agency Backgrid have filed a lawsuit against Lopez, accusing her of sharing copyrighted images on social media without permission.

The lawsuit claims that the photos in question were taken during the Golden Globes weekend and were later posted by Lopez on her Instagram and X (formerly Twitter) accounts with the caption “GG Weekend Glamour”.

Plaintiffs allege that the images were used for commercial purposes, aimed at boosting Lopez’s personal brand and promoting her business partnerships. The photos quickly went viral and were reposted by multiple fan pages and fashion accounts online.

Legal documents indicate that the plaintiffs are seeking damages of up to $150,000 per photo, citing violations of copyright law.

This isn’t the first time Jennifer Lopez has faced legal issues over the unauthorised use of images. She has previously been involved in similar lawsuits related to posting professional photographs on her social media platforms without licensing them.
