CJP Yahya Afridi calls a meeting of the Judicial Commission for key appointments

Islamabad: Chief Justice of Pakistan (CJP) Yahya Afridi has convened a meeting of the Judicial Commission on December 6 to discuss several important judicial appointments.
The meeting’s agenda includes the proposed appointment of Justice Shahid Bilal to the constitutional bench, a move prompted by the vacancy left by Justice Ayesha Malik’s absence in cases involving special courts. This is seen as a significant step in ensuring the continuity of judicial processes in such cases.
In addition to the constitutional bench nomination, the commission will also review judicial appointments for vacancies in the Peshawar High Court and Sindh High Court. These discussions are expected to play a crucial role in strengthening the judicial framework in these regions.
