Islamabad: A newly installed monument at Margalla Avenue Chowk has been demolished following widespread criticism on social media.
The structure, featuring two golden hands holding a white sphere, sparked confusion and ridicule online, with many questioning its purpose and symbolism. In response to the backlash, city authorities initially covered the monument with fabric and later began dismantling it using heavy machinery.
Citizens on social media demanded clarity, asking who approved the design and why public funds were spent without proper explanation. While some viewed it as a symbol of strength, others dismissed it as meaningless and unnecessary.
So far, no official statement has been issued by the administration regarding the monument’s installation or its sudden removal.
