In Karachi’s Defence area, a domestic worker who was earning 45,000 PKR per month was arrested on theft charges and turned out to be a Defence domestic worker found owning millions in assets. Authorities discovered that he had four bank accounts with transactions totaling 18.6 million PKR. The shocking revelation has raised concerns about trust and financial monitoring in households.

Investigators said the worker used the stolen money to buy flats in Karachi, plots in Haripur and Islamabad, and also owned a passenger van operating on the Haripur route. Additionally, authorities recovered gold worth 10 million PKR from him.

The worker had been employed by an elderly couple in Defence eight years ago. The couple also received regular financial support from their children living abroad. Over the years, the worker gained the couple’s trust and had access to bank accounts, lockers, and other valuable assets.

According to investigators, after the elderly man passed away four years ago, the worker continued taking care of the elderly woman. During this period, he began stealing money and valuables from the household. During interrogation, he admitted to stealing for several years and revealed that he used the money to buy property and vehicles.
