Egypt’s Foreign Minister, Dr Badr Ahmed Mohamed Abdelatty, will arrive in Pakistan today for a two-day official visit. He was invited by Pakistan’s Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister, Senator Mohammad Ishaq Dar. The visit highlights the longstanding and friendly relations between Pakistan and Egypt. Both countries share common faith, cultural ties, and similar perspectives on regional and international issues.

According to the Foreign Office, the visit aims to strengthen strategic cooperation and broaden the partnership between the two nations. It will focus on political, economic, defence, cultural, and people-to-people relations. Officials expect the discussions to enhance mutual understanding and reinforce the trajectory of Pakistan-Egypt relations. The visit underscores both countries’ commitment to maintaining close diplomatic ties.

During his stay, Dr Abdelatty will hold a one-on-one meeting with Senator Ishaq Dar. He will also participate in delegation-level talks with Pakistani officials. Both sides will review the full spectrum of bilateral relations. They will exchange views on regional and international developments, including the ongoing situation in Gaza.

The visit is expected to advance cooperation in multiple sectors, including trade, defence, and cultural exchange. Pakistan and Egypt aim to strengthen collaboration in areas of mutual interest. Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar met with the Egyptian Foreign Minister in Qatar. During the meeting, both leaders strongly condemned Israel’s attacks on Qatar and other Muslim countries.

According to the Foreign Office spokesperson, the meeting took place on the sidelines of the Foreign Ministers’ conference held in preparation for the upcoming Arab-Islamic Summit. Ishaq Dar and the Egyptian Foreign Minister termed the Israeli attack on Doha a clear violation of Qatar’s sovereignty and international law.
