Field Marshal Asim Munir Strengthens Defence Ties During US Visit

WASHINGTON – Field Marshal General Asim Munir is on an official visit to the United States, the Inter-Services Public Relations confirmed. He met senior political and military leaders, alongside engaging with the Pakistani diaspora.

During his visit to Tampa, Field Marshal General Asim Munir attended the retirement ceremony of General Michael E. Kurilla, former US CENTCOM Commander. He also witnessed the change of command ceremony as Admiral Brad Cooper assumed the role.

Field Marshal General Asim Munir praised General Kurilla’s leadership and his role in enhancing Pakistan–US military cooperation. He congratulated Admiral Cooper and expressed confidence in continued collaboration to address shared security challenges.

Field Marshal General Asim Munir held talks with General Dan Caine, Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, discussing matters of mutual professional interest. He formally invited General Caine to visit Pakistan in the near future.

On the sidelines of his official meetings, Field Marshal General Asim Munir interacted with Chiefs of Defence from various friendly nations, highlighting regional security cooperation and strengthening bilateral defence ties.
