Ghotki Bus Attack: 18 Passengers Kidnapped by Dacoits

Sukkur: Armed bandits attacked a passenger bus on the Guddu-Kashmore Road, kidnapping 18 passengers on Tuesday. Police quickly launched a large-scale operation to rescue the victims. The operation is led by the Sukkur DIG, with support from four senior police officers. Authorities are using armored vehicles and modern technology, despite challenges posed by dense fog.
The Ghotki SSP reported that 11 of the 18 abducted passengers have been rescued so far. Two of the rescued passengers are injured and are being treated at Ubauro Hospital. The police operation continues in the riverine belt, aiming to recover the remaining abductees and eliminate the bandits responsible for the attack.
The police have also carried out drone strikes against the bandits hiding in the area. The operation is ongoing, with authorities vowing to ensure the safety and recovery of all the abducted passengers. The situation remains tense as the police intensify their search efforts.
In a related development, a video from Rahim Yar Khan showed four abductees pleading for their release. The men, identified as Jameel, Abdul Khaliq, Rafiq, and Adnan, were kidnapped a month ago. They described poor living conditions, with no beds, food, or drinking water. The families of the abducted are frustrated, as many have visited police stations without success.
The families mentioned that other abductees had been released after ransom payments. However, in this case, the release remains uncertain. The police are under pressure to act swiftly and ensure the safety of the remaining hostages.
