Gold and Silver Prices Fall Sharply in Pakistan

Gold prices have faced a sharp decline for the third consecutive day, both in Pakistan and globally. According to the All Pakistan Sarafa Gems and Jewellers Association, 24-karat gold decreased by Rs7,000 per tola, dropping to Rs423,662. This marks a significant downturn in the local gold market. Similarly, 10 grams of 24-karat gold also saw a decline of Rs6,002, bringing its value to Rs363,221.
In addition, 22-karat gold saw a notable drop of Rs5,502 per 10 grams, now priced at Rs332,964. These declines follow a global trend of decreasing gold prices, driven by strengthening currencies and cautious market sentiment. On the international market, gold dropped by $70 per ounce, settling at $4,013.
The decline in gold prices has been largely attributed to stronger global currencies, which have made gold less attractive as a safe haven for investors. This has caused a steady decrease in demand and, subsequently, in gold prices. Despite this, gold remains a valuable commodity, but its value is more volatile in the current market climate.
In line with the fall in gold prices, silver prices also saw a decrease. The price of 24-karat silver per tola dropped by Rs123, bringing its value to Rs5,245. Similarly, 10 grams of silver is now priced at Rs4,496.
As both gold and silver prices continue to fall, investors and consumers are facing a shifting market. Experts warn that global economic factors, including currency strength and investor caution, may continue to influence precious metal prices.
