How many pills do Pakistan’s last elephants take daily to treat TB?

At Karachi Safari Park, elephants Madhubala and Malika are undergoing treatment for tuberculosis under the supervision of Sri Lankan veterinary expert Dr. Buddhika Bandara.
During his 17-day visit, Dr. Bandara is working with local veterinarians on a newly developed treatment plan — which includes administering over 400 pills a day.
To reduce stress and ensure their safety, the elephants are under constant medical observation, and public access has been restricted.
