ICC corruption charges

LONDON – The International Cricket Council (ICC) has charged three individuals over alleged corruption offences linked to the Bim10 Tournament 2023/24. The accused include team officials Chitranjan Rathod, Trevon Griffith, and West Indies player Javon Searles.

The charges fall mainly under the Cricket West Indies (CWI) Anti-Corruption Code. One additional charge against Trevon Griffith relates to international matches under the ICC Anti-Corruption Code.

Chitranjan Rathod, Titans team owner, faces three charges under the CWI Code. Javon Searles faces four charges, while Trevon Griffith faces five, including one ICC Code charge.

All three are accused of violating Article 2.1.1 of the CWI Code. The provision deals with fixing, attempting to fix, or improperly influencing matches.

They also face charges under Article 2.1.4, which involves encouraging or facilitating corruption offences, and Article 2.4.4, covering failure to cooperate with investigations.

Searles and Griffith face additional CWI Code charges under Article 2.4.2 for not reporting approaches or invitations linked to corruption. Griffith also faces an ICC Code charge for allegedly obstructing an anti-corruption investigation.

The ICC confirmed all three are provisionally suspended from all cricket immediately. They have 14 days from 11 March 2026 to respond. The investigation follows earlier charges against USA player Aaron Jones.
