Indonesia Refuses Visas to Israeli Gymnasts Over Gaza Conflict

Indonesia has refused to issue visas to Israeli gymnasts who were supposed to participate in the upcoming World Artistic Gymnastics Championship. This decision comes as a protest against the ongoing violence in Gaza. The event is scheduled to take place in Jakarta from October 19 to 25, but the Israeli team will not be allowed to enter the country.
The president of the Indonesian Gymnastics Federation, Eita Yuliati, confirmed that the Israeli team cannot compete because they were denied visas. This move reflects Indonesia’s strong stance against the recent actions in Gaza and its support for the Palestinian cause.

The decision was also influenced by strong public opinion in Indonesia. Social media platforms saw hundreds of messages protesting the participation of Israeli athletes. At the same time, United Nations experts have called on sports organizations to suspend Israel from international competitions.
