Iran Condemns U.S. Strikes, Citing Violation of International Law

Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi has strongly denounced the recent U.S. airstrikes on Iran’s nuclear facilities, calling them a direct violation of the United Nations Charter.

Araghchi emphasised that the attacks represent a clear breach of international law and the Non-Proliferation Treaty (NPT). He stated, “Iran has every right to defend its sovereignty, national interests, and its people.”

Calling the strikes “deeply regrettable and highly condemnable”, Araghchi warned that this kind of aggression would have long-lasting consequences.

Iran continues to insist that its nuclear programme is entirely peaceful and maintains that any attack on its facilities is an unlawful act of aggression.
