Iranian President to Visit Pakistan on August 2

Islamabad will welcome Iranian President Dr. Masoud Pezeshkian for a two-day state visit starting August 2, 2025. The visit is at the invitation of Pakistan’s Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif. It marks Dr. Pezeshkian’s first official trip to Pakistan since assuming office. His visit reflects the growing importance of ties between the two neighboring countries.
The Iranian president will arrive with a high-level delegation, including Foreign Minister Seyyed Abbas Araghchi. Other senior ministers and top officials will also join the trip. According to the Foreign Office, this visit aims to expand cooperation in politics, trade, and regional security. The presence of high-ranking officials signals serious engagement on both sides.
During the visit, President Pezeshkian will meet with Pakistani President Asif Ali Zardari. He will also hold formal talks with Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif. The talks will focus on enhancing mutual interests and resolving regional issues. Both leaders are expected to announce new agreements following the discussions.
This is a follow-up to Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif’s own visit to Iran in May 2025. That trip laid the groundwork for deeper collaboration. Now, with Iran’s new leadership, Pakistan hopes to build on the momentum. Stronger economic and security ties are at the top of the agenda.
Officials from both sides view the visit as a chance to reinforce brotherly relations. Key sectors like energy, border security, and trade may see progress. Cultural exchange and people-to-people contact are also likely to be discussed. Positive outcomes could benefit both nations significantly.
