A violent road rage incident on Karachi’s Super Highway left a young motorcyclist injured after he was allegedly assaulted and shot following a traffic collision, police said.

According to initial reports, the incident began after a minor accident involving a motorcycle and a car near a roadside hotel area on the Super Highway. Witnesses said the dispute escalated quickly when the driver of the car allegedly became enraged during an argument with the motorcyclist.

Officials said the suspect allegedly attacked the young man physically before pulling out a firearm and opening fire. The victim sustained injuries and was shifted to a nearby medical facility for treatment. Authorities have not yet released details regarding his condition.

People present at the scene recorded videos of the confrontation, which later circulated on social media and sparked public concern over increasing incidents of violent behavior during traffic disputes.

According to police, the injured man had reportedly arrived at a nearby hotel with a friend for tea shortly before the altercation occurred. After the shooting, the suspect fled the scene before law enforcement personnel arrived.

Police registered a criminal case shortly after the incident and launched raids to arrest the accused. During the investigation, officers detained the suspect’s brother for questioning as part of efforts to trace the main accused.

Senior Superintendent of Police SSP Karachi told media representatives that search operations are ongoing and authorities are working to arrest the suspect at the earliest opportunity.

The incident has renewed concerns about road rage violence and illegal weapon use in urban areas. Citizens on social media called for stricter enforcement against armed individuals involved in traffic-related disputes.

Police officials urged the public to avoid escalating arguments after road accidents and instead seek legal assistance through emergency services and law enforcement authorities.
