Karachi Terror Plot Foiled as Security Forces Rescue School girl Radicalized for Suicide Attack

Security agencies in Karachi successfully foiled a major terror plot by rescuing a young school girl allegedly being prepared for a suicide attack. According to officials, extremist elements were using social media to brainwash the student and recruit her for violent activities.
Sindh Home Minister Zia-ul-Hassan Lanjar, alongside Additional IGP CTD Azaad Khan and Karachi Police Chief Javed Odho, revealed during a press conference that terrorists had contacted the girl via social media and influenced her with fabricated stories. For security reasons, the identity and address of the family have been kept confidential.
The home minister assured that the government will provide complete protection and necessary assistance to the girl and her family. He also urged parents to closely monitor their children’s online activities to prevent such incidents.
Lanjar added that terrorist groups spread false and anti-state narratives on social media to target vulnerable youth. He emphasized that timely action saved the girl, and efforts are being made to reintegrate her into the education system so she can continue her dream of becoming a teacher.

Additional IGP CTD Azaad Khan stated that a member of the banned BLA contacted the girl on Instagram before adding her to a WhatsApp group. She was initially sent hateful and extremist content, eventually pushing her toward radicalization.
He revealed that the girl was shifted outside Karachi as part of the plan, but during snap checking, law enforcement personnel intercepted her. Her family was later informed, and the entire situation was explained to them.
CTD officials clarified that due to her minor age, the girl will not face criminal charges. Instead, the state will ensure her protection, rehabilitation and continued education to secure her future.
