Kazakhstan President Visits Islamabad to Strengthen Bilateral Ties Today

ISLAMABAD – Kazakhstan’s President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev is set to arrive in Islamabad today for his first official two-day visit. The visit, scheduled for February 3 and 4, marks a historic milestone in Pakistan-Kazakhstan relations. Pakistan’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs confirmed that the visit is being held at the special invitation of Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif. During his stay, President Tokayev will meet President Asif Ali Zardari and hold detailed talks with the Prime Minister. The discussions will focus on strengthening cooperation across multiple sectors.
President Tokayev will also address the Pakistan-Kazakhstan Business Forum. The forum will gather business leaders, investors, and traders from both countries. Its goal is to explore new trade and investment opportunities. He will be accompanied by a high-level delegation, including senior cabinet members and top officials. The delegation aims to translate agreements into practical cooperation between the two nations.
The Foreign Office stated that the visit provides an important opportunity to review Pakistan-Kazakhstan relations comprehensively. Talks are expected to cover trade, logistics, and regional connectivity. Leaders will also discuss people-to-people contacts and collaboration at regional and international forums. Officials hope the visit will strengthen political, economic, and strategic ties between the two countries.

Following Kazakhstan’s visit, Uzbekistan’s President Shavkat Mirziyoyev will visit Pakistan on February 5 and 6. The visit aims to further expand growing political and economic relations. High-level talks in Islamabad will focus on increasing bilateral trade to $2 billion in the coming years. The visit will include the Uzbekistan-Pakistan Business Forum and the “Made in Uzbekistan” exhibition. These events aim to promote industrial, trade, and investment cooperation between both nations.
Together, these visits highlight Pakistan’s growing engagement with Central Asian countries. Leaders aim to strengthen regional cooperation and economic integration. Business forums and exhibitions will create opportunities for investment and trade expansion. Officials emphasized that high-level dialogue will help address shared challenges and mutual goals.
