Maryam Nawaz on Governance in Punjab: Serving Citizens Effectively

Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz has said that every province has money, and the main issue is a lack of intent and commitment to work. She emphasized that Maryam Nawaz on governance in Punjab believes good governance is more important than politics, and true politics is about serving the people rather than focusing on protocol or personal gain.

Speaking at a national workshop with participants from Balochistan in Lahore, Maryam Nawaz highlighted that Punjab’s hospitals treat patients from other provinces, including heart surgeries, and students from across Pakistan are studying in Punjab’s educational institutions. She stressed that no discrimination is made based on language or region, as dividing people weakens the country.

Maryam Nawaz said that politics has often been reduced to alliances and personal gains, but her focus is on serving the public. She noted that all schemes in Punjab run on public funds, and during her tenure, she eliminated the culture of favoritism. She confirmed that no one has been appointed through recommendations, and she personally interviews candidates to ensure fairness.

The Chief Minister also spoke about crime reduction, saying that in many areas of Punjab, days pass without any crime reports. Through her administration, she has ended the network of bribery and favoritism that existed for years, lowering crime rates from 100% to 30%. She highlighted that CCTV monitoring helps control traffic violations, garbage management, and public safety.

Maryam Nawaz concluded by saying that efforts like CCTV monitoring and strict law enforcement have reduced harassment, assaults, and traffic violations, and now almost no motorcyclist rides without a helmet. She reaffirmed that Maryam Nawaz on governance in Punjab ensures transparency, accountability, and public service as the core priorities of her administration.
